ABOUT

About the AGAT Foundation Charity Classic
The AGAT Foundation Charity Classic brings Albertans together in the fight against cancer. This incredible event traces its roots back to 2016, when two meaningful tournaments — the Don LaBerge Memorial Golf Classic and Golf for a Cure, held in memory of Janice E. Crist — joined forces. Their inaugural combined event raised $50,000, setting the stage for the Alberta Cancer Foundation Golf Classic in 2017. Since then, the tournament has flourished, raising over $1.37 million for essential cancer support programs like Patient Financial Assistance and Patient Navigator initiatives.
In 2022, the AGAT Foundation took the lead, building on this remarkable legacy and amplifying its impact. Under AGAT’s stewardship, the AGAT Foundation Charity Classic tournament has raised an additional $2.15 million, providing critical support to families across Alberta.
A Legacy of Generosity at Priddis Greens
Since 1999, the Priddis Greens Charity Classic has been a cornerstone event for the Prostate Cancer Centre (PCC), raising over $7.85 million to support prostate health initiatives. Founded by Mr. Bill Beattie and friends, this event has funded lifesaving services, early screenings, and treatments, while promoting prostate cancer awareness throughout Southern Alberta.
A United Front Against Cancer
In 2025, the AGAT Foundation Charity Classic and the Priddis Greens Charity Classic unite to support the Alberta Cancer Foundation’s Patient Financial Assistance Program, Breast Cancer Initiatives at the Peter Lougheed Centre, and its mobile breast screening unit. Additionally, the event will support the Calgary Prostate Cancer Centre’s MAN VAN initiative, providing early detection and care for prostate health.
Join us at Priddis Greens Golf & Country Club for a day of philanthropy, community, and golf as we honor a shared legacy of compassion and change lives together.

The AGAT Foundation is now carrying on this tradition by harnessing the power of scientific advances and fostering meaningful partnerships with like-minded organizations in order to fulfill our shared vision of building, creating and healing through knowledge. The AGAT Foundation Charity Classic is our latest initiative in a series of projects designed to shore up resources for early cancer diagnosis, patient care, emotional support and ground-breaking research that will make tangible positive impacts in our communities.
The Foundation’s most notable initiatives in the past 2 years include:
- Partnership with Prostate Centre Calgary (PCC) to promote early detection and facilitate treatment access for prostate cancer patients in Alberta.
- Funding and fundraising support for the PCC’s Man Van™ mobile clinics to provide free prostate cancer screening tests throughout Alberta.
- Funding to help the Tom Baker Cancer Centre bring Prostate-specific membrane antigen PSMA-PET imaging to Alberta. This technique helps localize prostate cancer recurrence more accurately than current conventional imaging.
- Acquisition of Faxiton® Trident® HD radiography systems and Sentimag® magnetic localization systems for Peter Lougheed Centre and Rockyview General Hospital in Calgary to improve breast-conserving cancer surgery care by facilitating the localization and excision of small cancer tumours.
- Purchase of intra-operative ultrasound equipment for The Montreal Children’s Hospital to improve paediatric patient care by increasing surgery success rates, shortening operating times, and reducing risks of complications.
- Donation to purchase large volumes of pet food and supplies for Parachutes for Pets and Pawsitive Match.
- Donation to fund cleft lip and palate surgeries through the exceptional surgical care of Operation Smile. Canada.
